Position Overview:
We are seeking a Real Estate and General Practice Attorney to join our firm, The ideal candidate will have experience handling real estate transactions from start to finish, and a desire to work in a collaborative, small-firm environment with strong client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent buyers, sellers, and lenders in residential and commercial real estate transactions
- Draft, review, and negotiate purchase and sales agreements, deeds, and closing documents
- Conduct title searches, prepare title opinions and manage closings
- Coordinate with local banks, title companies. and municipal offices
- Provide guidance on zoning, permitting, and land use issues when applicable
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate
- Active license to practice law in Vermont (or eligibility to waive in)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in real estate law preferred
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail
- Familiarity with Vermont real estate law and closing procedures preferred

Position Overview:
We are seeking a Paralegal to support our real estate and general practice. The ideal candidate will be experienced, highly organized, and able to manage all aspects of real estate transactions from contract through closing. This position involves working directly with attorneys, clients. banks, title companies, and municipal offices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage real estate closings for residential and commercial properties
- Prepare and review real estate closing documents including purchase and sale agreements, deeds, tax forms and associated closing materials
- Perform title searches
- Prepare title commitments, title insurance policies, and closing disclosures
- Communicate with clients, realtors, lenders, and local officials to ensure that transactions are carried out in a timely manner
- Maintain computer and physical files and records in accordance with firm policies
- Assist with post-closing follow-up, including recording of documents and issuing disbursements
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a real estate paralegal or legal assistant preferred
- Strong working knowledge of the mechanics of real estate transactions including title work and closing procedures
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, and ability to learn to use the firm’s accounting, closing and title insurance software
