How do I download the latest version of PrepExpress?
eJackets are just like a paper jacket, but the jacket number is requested electronically via PrepExpress or CATIC's website, caticaccss.com. They will eventually replace paper jackets.
2. Can I still use paper jackets?
Yes. You may retain as many paper jackets as you need to complete policies that are already in your pipeline. However, once those policies have been remitted, you will be required to stop using paper jackets.
eJackets are printed with the other policy forms. A check box for each jacket type can be found in the policy type group in Print Selections. Just check the eJacket box if you want it to print.
4. We have several staff members in our office who produce title insurance policies and/or Closing Protection Letters. Can everybody use eJackets and request CPL's?
Yes. However, each person will need his/her own username and password for the Agent Access section of www.caticaccess.com. Please do not use one username and password for the entire office.
5. My office doesn't use PrepExpress. Can we still use eJackets and ICL/CPL's?
Yes. However, you will not sign out your jackets via PrepExpress. You will log on to www.caticaccess.com and go to Agent Access. From there, Jacket Express or ICL Express can be accessed, which is where you sign out jacket numbers and CPL's. Please note that unless you are using Soft Pro, your office is required to use PrepExpress, unless granted special permission by VATC to use another program or merge.
6. I signed out a Short Form, but the deal didn't close. What should I do?
Log on to PrepExpress (or Jacket Express on caticaccess.com) and retrieve the closing file (policy jacket if using Jacket Express). Go to the policy in PrepExpress and click the Void button on Schedule A. Do the same for a Policy Commitment or any other type of policy. Destroy the jacket if it has already been printed.
7. What other changes are included in the software update?
- Included in the new software are CATIC's new Expanded Protection Policies. For a concise explanation of the differences between the old and the new policies, click here.
- All Vermont policies will now print with two new endorsements, the Definitions Endorsement and the Endorsement Ameding Arbitration Clause (E-21.1). [This sample E-21.1 is for expanded protection policies. A similar version exists for standard protection policies.]
8. How do I download the latest version of PrepExpress?
